It was such a blast going to East Carolina University yesterday to take Brittany’s senior photos.  She has worked so hard these past four years to complete her undergraduate degree in Public Health and Pre-Dentistry.  She wants to be a Dentist and graduating 10th in her class with top honors, I am sure that she will have no issues at all achieving her goals.

I travel all the time for photography, and I love it.  I get to see new places and experience new things in addition to creating wonderful memories for my clients.  I photographed Brittany’s  senior portraits when she graduated from East Carteret High, NC. 4 years ago and she was beautiful then and has grown into a beautiful confident young woman, who knows what she wants.

Congratulations Brittany on your huge accomplishments!  ECU was blessed to have you!

I was told that the Cupala is something that no undergraduate walks through because the legend is that if an undergrad walks through it you won’t graduate when anticipated….guess what I was probably the ONLY person to ever walk through it LOL…since I am pretty sure I will never graduate from ECU. 🙂

We walked around to every gate and asked two people to please let us in for just 10 min so we could grab a few photos in the purple bleachers, after two “no’s” we finally asked the right person well, he asked us.  Coach Conners, the strength training coach for the ECU football team watched us walk by the workout room for a third time and popped his head out and asked us if we couldn’t find anyone to let us in, we said ….nope but could you?  He thought for moment…and said “make it quick” and we did!  Thanks Coach!

East Carolina University Senior Portraits

Right by the stadium was this beautiful train track…in beautiful light!  We took full advantage of it…She was so beautiful people were staring and for good cause!

Running out of light we went uptown to finish off our night and found some pretty cool places!

Thank you once again, Brittany, for allowing me to document this special time in your life!

I look forward to other big events to come!

If there is one thing I could do over…

I would go back in time and re-do my senior portraits….and do THIS shoot.  A country girl…cowboy hat, red barns, soybean fields, my puppy and my camera would  have been my “props”  This was one fun shoot…

Running all around Smithfield’s Windsor Castle Park, chasing the beautiful light…and photographing a beautiful sweet young woman.

When Maelyn smiles…you smile to, it’s just that contagious!

Her puppy…Bella…come on…you KNOW I loved that puppy…if not only for the name but because she was the best well behaved pup ever on a shoot…she just hung out when it was not her turn to be in a photo.  She loved the country too….

Maelyn, with your sweet personality and gorgeous country girl next door looks your senior year is gonna be stellar!  It was so much fun to hang out with you and your momma…I wish you so much happiness and success!

We found all kinds of critters….bunnies and SNAKES…but NO photo of the snake…I was running to fast!

Great Bridge High School!  Class of 2014

A girl and her Jeep…if that ain’t country I don’t know what is…..

At this point…I realized I had misplaced my keys!  LOL utter darkness Thank goodness for video lights, we probably looked like we were Skype hunting..LOL.. It’s a country thing.

What a blast…especially when I found my keys IN my camera bag, after tearing apart my car.  If you know me…this is ME.  🙂

I had not met Kaylee when I booked her senior session.

She was referred by the mom of one of my senior guys that I photographed.

We chatted on the phone and text back and forth about her outfits and then met at Town Center in Virginia Beach back in March.

The night before the session I got a wild hair to make a floral crown to take because she had this white dress…..and I am so glad I did.

I walked to our meeting place in front of the fountain….when she walked up all I could focus on was her gorgeous smile and those EYES!

When she introduced herself and her mom…I knew right away her sweet spirit matched her gorgeous looks!!

For the next two hours we strolled around Town Center and then to some off beat railroad tracks (no longer in use) just in time for the golden hour…

….and the floral crown shoot…

…then finished up back at the fountain for a couple of night shots….

…and MAN…she rocked it so much so…. that its hard for me to believe she is not a model for real.  We had a blast!

Kaylee…you’re a beautiful girl with a wonderful sweet spirit…I know you have great things waiting for you in the future!

Be sure to call me when you get married 🙂  That’s a wedding I WANT to shoot.

I don’t remember…

Seniors ever looking like this when I was in high school…I know it’s been a long long time…but seriously these senior girls today…most look like they belong in a magazine..and Jackie is no different.  Ok…is it just me or does she resemble Virginia MadsenWow!   This was one fun walk about Norfolk photo shoot…I LOVE that type of shoot…gather inspiration pick the spot…then just start walking looking stoping and shooting…letting your eye and creativity have free reign to see things.

So she picked out the outfits,  I brought an umbrella and she brought a cute hat…and just started walking letting the city streets inspire us… the allies, the grungy walls, colorful doorways, and just the middle of the street…then to top it off (no pun intended) we finished up at the top of a parking garage over looking the city, with a cool Corvette.

It was a highly successful fun shoot!

Jackie you rocked your Urban / City senior session and represented Great Bridge High School well… have the cutest dimples when you smile..

I am sure you will have a wonderfully successful senior year at Great Bridge High School!

Yes You DO resemble Virginia Madsen!
